Hi folks, I was reading the other board post about texting. I have the t-mobile Dash. I do text a lot and was wondering how you all feel about texting in public? When I bought my phone it came with a pair of hedphones and an attached speaker for talking. The problem I find with this is that the cord gets all tangled and before plugging it in, I have to untangle it. I have no place on my person that is accessible and won't tangle the cord.
I tried getting a bluetooth headset but then wondered how common those are anymore. Does it restrict one's ability to hear properly when traveling? Then when one gets to a class, meeting, or other place where it is not appropreate to wear such a device, does it just go in one's pocket?
Finally, what is a good price to pay for a bluetooth headset? I have a Trekker and was wondering if I could root that to a bluetooth headset. At least that way it could serve dule purpose. I bought the external speakerand while it is good, does everyone really need to hear the sone sided conversation I am having with my Trekker, or rather, it is having with me? It would be nice to get rid of yet one more cord in my life. The speaker connects to the Trekker via a standard sound cable. It plugges into the headphone jack and that is how it provides speech. I have been told I look like robo-cop with the whole thing on though. grins. The speaker has to be worn high on your person or hearing it can be diffacult depending on traffic. Um, gotta love tangents right? Well let me know what you all think.

Trekkker and maestro do not support blue tooth headsets and it would be nice if they do. They only support certain bt keyboards and gps receivers. As far as using a bluetooth headset I think they are a great thing accept if you want to talk in a crowded or noisey place. I usually use mine at home or outside if it's fairly quiet. The qualitty is not bad and can differ from headset to headset. you can find them anyware from $40 to rediculous. People like plantronics and I use motorola. I do also have a jaber but like the hook on the motorola better.
